Diia app will allow taking an online driver's license exam: what is known about the new service

In Ukraine, it will be possible to take an online driver's license exam through the Diia app. Find out how the system will work, what technologies are used, and when to expect the service to be launched
Ukraine continues to actively digitize public services, and the next step in this direction will be the ability to take an online driver's license theory exam right in the Diia app. This will not only be a convenient solution for millions of Ukrainians, but also a significant step in the fight against bureaucracy and queues at service centers.
Online driving license exam in Diia: what innovations are being prepared?
The launch of the new feature was announced by Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, on TV. According to him, the development is already at the pilot testing stage.
It is planned that Diia users will be able to take the theoretical part of the driver's license exam online. This means that there will be no need to go to the service center of the MSC (Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs) - it is enough to have access to the Internet and log in to the application.
How the online exam will work: technology and security
The system will be powered by artificial intelligence that will analyze user behavior during testing. This will allow monitoring compliance with the exam rules, detecting fraud, and ensuring the integrity of the results.
AI “tracks” (monitors) the behavioral model - facial expressions, eye movements, delays between answers. This will ensure maximum control over the fact that it is the applicant who is taking the exam, not someone else. Thus, the system actually recreates the conditions of taking the exam in the center, but without the need for physical presence.

When will it be possible to take the driving test through Diia?
At this stage, the service is still under development. First, it will undergo beta testing - a limited number of users will be the first to test the system. Only then will it be opened to the general public. The exact launch date has not yet been announced.
While you're waiting for the online exams to be launched, you should take care of the mandatory documents for drivers. In particular, car insurance can be easily arranged online through the Visit Ukraine portal. The website offers:
● motor third party liability insurance (MTPL);
● Green Card for traveling abroad.
The process takes only a few minutes, and the policy is sent to your email immediately after payment. Apply for insurance online - it's convenient, fast and without queues!
We remind you! Even during the war, insurance remains mandatory for all vehicles traveling on the roads of Ukraine. Read more about how to insure your car during martial law and whether you can get compensation for a damaged car during the war by following the link.
