According to official statistics provided by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine at the request of Visit Ukraine, US citizens ranked 7th among all foreigners entering Ukraine in 2024. At the same time, the top countries were:

1. Moldova - 1,128,486 people crossed the border.

2. Romania - 423,256 people.

3. Poland - 219,336 people.

Why do US citizens travel to Ukraine?

In total, 52,012 US citizens visited Ukraine in 2024, and the vast majority of them - 51,679 people - entered for private purposes. This may include visiting relatives, participating in volunteer or humanitarian missions, and other personal matters. Tourist trips were not the main reason for visits: only 248 Americans officially crossed the border as tourists. Another 85 US citizens chose Ukraine as a transit point on their journeys.

What does a US citizen need to enter Ukraine?

To enter Ukraine, US citizens need to have:

- A valid passport;

- Confirmation of the purpose of the trip;

- Confirmation of financial security for the duration of their stay in Ukraine;

- Insurance policy.
