Interest in Ukraine among citizens of different countries continues to grow. Some come here on business, some as tourists, and some to visit relatives or friends.

In this article, based on official statistics provided by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine at the request of Visit Ukraine, we will tell you which countries were most interested in Ukraine and what the level of interest was among residents of Europe, Asia and the Americas in 2024.

Europe: the greatest interest in Ukraine

Europe is the undisputed leader among the continents in terms of the number of arrivals to Ukraine, with 2,257,615 entries in 2024. The main reasons for this high level of interest are geographical proximity, economic ties, cultural and family contacts. The largest number of visitors came from neighbouring countries such as Moldova, Romania, Poland and Hungary.

Asia: sustained interest and potential for growth

Asian countries demonstrate a moderate level of interest in Ukraine, with a total of 203,425 entries. At the same time, it is worth noting the significant interest in Ukraine on the part of Israeli citizens, which ranks fifth among all countries in the world in terms of the number of arrivals.

Based on the official statistics of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine on crossing the Ukrainian border by residents of other countries in 2024, we can conclude that the level of interest is:

1. Moldova (Europe) - 1,128,486 people crossed the border;

2. Romania (Europe) - 423,256 people crossed the border;

3. Poland (Europe) - 219,336 people crossed the border;

4. Hungary (Europe) - 127,472 people crossed the border;

5. Israel (Asia) - 73,703 people crossed the border;

6. Slovakia (Europe) - 67,339 people crossed the border;

7. USA (America) - 52,012 people crossed the border;

8. Germany (Europe) - 49,217 people crossed the border;

9. Turkey (Asia/Europe) - 47,240 people crossed the border;

10. United Kingdom (Europe) - 32,624 people crossed the border.

Who is most interested in Ukraine?

If we analyse the overall level of interest by continent, the figures look like this:

- Europe - 89.2%;

- Asia - 8.0%;

- America - 2.8%.

Thus, it is the residents of European countries who are most interested in Ukraine, due to geographical proximity, cultural ties and economic interests. At the same time, there is potential for an increase in tourist and business interest from Asians and Americans in the coming years.
