Q: Was sind die Versicherungsanforderungen für die Beantragung eines Visums?

Bei der Beantragung eines Visums muss ein Ausländer nachweisen, dass er oder sie über eine gültige medizinische\/Reiseversicherung verfügt, die in der Ukraine gültig ist und den Aufenthalt im Land abdeckt (die Police muss eine Deckung von mindestens 30.000 EUR oder dem entsprechenden Betrag in einer anderen Währung bieten), es sei denn, es ist etwas anderes nach ukrainischem Recht oder internationalen Verträgen vorgesehen.

Citizens of countries with which Ukraine does not have a visa-free regime, as well as those who plan to stay in Ukraine for a long time (more than 90 days), must obtain a visa. To do this, they must submit a certain set of documents to the relevant authorities, which is regulated by the current legislation. Laws that regulate visa issuance

- The Law of Ukraine ‘On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons’;

- Rules for issuing visas to enter Ukraine and transit through its territory;

Types of visas required to enter Ukraine

If a country does not have a visa-free regime, a foreigner must present a visa when entering Ukraine. There are several types of visas, the main criterion being the length of stay in Ukraine.

1) Transit visas (type B) - issued to foreigners travelling in transit through the territory of Ukraine, with the transit period not exceeding 5 days: single-, double- or multiple-entry visas with a maximum validity of 1 year.

2) Short-term visas (type C) - issued to foreigners who plan to stay in Ukraine for up to 90 days within every 180 days: single-, double- or multiple-entry visas with a maximum validity of 6 months;

3) Long-term (type D) - issued to foreigners who plan to stay in Ukraine for more than 90 days and apply for a temporary residence permit.

What are the insurance requirements for foreigners when applying for a visa to enter Ukraine?

When applying for a visa, a foreigner must provide proof that he or she is the holder (or has the right to obtain) a valid medical/travel insurance policy valid in Ukraine and covering the period of stay in the country (the policy must provide coverage of at least EUR 30,000 or the equivalent amount in another currency), unless otherwise provided by the legislation or international treaties of Ukraine.

When considering an application for a multiple-entry visa, the availability of a health insurance policy valid for the period of the first planned trip to Ukraine is checked.
