There is no direct ban on the use of dashcams on public roads at the legislative level. There are no administrative or criminal penalties for video recording of road accidents and ordinary roads. Every driver should be aware that in 2024, due to martial law, there is still a ban on video recording of infrastructure facilities, fortifications, checkpoints, as well as the location, concentration or movement of military personnel. Please note that in Ukraine, there is criminal liability for unauthorised dissemination of information on the sending, movement of weapons, armaments and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, relocation or deployment of the Armed Forces or other military formations established in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, in accordance with Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code.

At the same time, representatives of the Rivne Patrol Police report that in all regions of Ukraine, the use of dashcams on public roads is not permitted, although there is no such prohibition at the legislative level.
