On February 22, Kyiv temporarily abolished parking fees in municipal parking lots. At the same time, fines for traffic violations and evacuation for improper parking remain in effect. Therefore, the problem of finding a car at the impound lot remains relevant for Kyiv residents and visitors. How to find and pick up a towed car in Kyiv is described below.

How to find a towed car using the Kyiv Digital app?

If the car data is linked to the profile in the Kyiv Digital app, the user will automatically receive a notification about the evacuation of an incorrectly parked car. To find and pick up the car, you need to click on this notification, and then click on the "Return car" button.

To return the car, follow the instructions on the screen:

1. Provide copies of the documents via "Action";

2. Pay a fine for evacuation.

You will need to show the received QR code to a police officer at the impound lot.

If the car data is not linked to your profile or you have not received an automatic notification, you can check the status of the towed vehicle yourself. To do this, go to the "Towing" section and enter the vehicle number to start the search.

How can I find a towed car if I don't have the Kyiv Digital app?

As a rule, police officers leave a notice of evacuation at the place of the evacuated car, which contains the address of the impound lot and contact phone numbers. However, there may be a situation where there is no such notice and there is no way to find the car through a mobile application. If you find yourself in such circumstances, call 102 or the patrol police hotline at (044) 287-82-82. They should provide you with information about the towed vehicle.

What is the fine for towing a car?

Payment of a fine for car evacuation involves three separate payments, these are

– a fine for improper parking - from 340 to 1700 UAH, depending on the type of violation (if paid within 10 days from the date of the violation, a 50% discount is valid, if the fine is not paid within 30 days, its amount will be doubled)

– tow truck services - UAH 1270;

– storage of a car on the impound lot - UAH 144 per day if it is stored for up to 7 days, UAH 24 for each subsequent day after a week of storage.
