Czech carrier RegioJet will launch a new Chop-Prague route in March 2024. The contract with Ukrzaliznytsia has already been signed, and the last technical details are being finalized.

Details of the planned Chop - Prague flight

It is planned that transportation on this route will be carried out by a train with 3 cars for 140 passengers. Passengers will have a choice of both sleeping and sitting seats: 80 and 60 respectively. The ticket price for such a train will be approximately 25 euros. 

Radim Jančura, the owner of RegioJet, says that the ticket price includes free drinks, Wi-Fi access, breakfast and dinner for all passengers. The total duration of the route will be about 13 hours and 30 minutes.

The Prague - Kosice - Chop route will be the second train to operate between Prague and Ukraine. All the necessary permits have been obtained from the railway authorities of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, through whose territory this route will run.

New flights abroad in 2024

A new train schedule for 2024 has already been formed by Ukrzaliznytsia. It took into account passengers' requests to improve connections with European countries.

Thus, in the new year, the following routes will be launched abroad:

1. Dnipro - Kholm;

2. Chop - Vienna;

3. Chop - Prague.

Currently, due to the lack of air service, Ukrzaliznytsia has become the main means of transportation for passengers. Given this challenge, the company is working hard to expand its international network. According to forecasts, 22 international flights will be introduced in 2024. For comparison, at the beginning of 2022, there were only 9 international flights operated by Ukrzaliznytsia. 

We remind you! UZ has set ambitious plans for the future, announcing the launch of online ticket sales for a direct train to Vienna by the end of 2023.
