The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has expanded the list of documents that Ukrainians can send abroad by mail. In particular, an internal passport and a passport for traveling abroad were added to the list. Below is a complete list of documents that can and cannot be sent abroad.

Ukrainians can send the following documents abroad:

• internal passport;

• passport for traveling abroad;

• identity card for return to Ukraine.

It is worth noting that permission to send these documents will be valid only during martial law. After its cancellation, the rules will remain unchanged.

What documents are prohibited to send abroad?

According to Ukrainian legislation, the following cannot be sent by mail:

• permits for the right to carry weapons;

• work books;

• military tickets;

• identity card (except those permitted).

In addition, according to the legislation of the Universal Postal Union, in international parcels, parcels, "M" bags, it is forbidden to forward written messages that have the nature of business and personal correspondence, as well as any correspondence that does not belong to the senders or addressees, except for invoices and application descriptions.

What will happen if a prohibited document is found in your package?

If items or documents are found in your parcel that are prohibited for sending abroad by mail, their removal is carried out in accordance with the procedure established by law, namely, the postal operator returns them to the sender or takes measures to remove them.

In accordance with the legislation, postal items are temporarily stored by the postal facility at the place of their detection, in compliance with the requirements of record keeping, preservation and restriction of access to them by third parties.
