An important change has taken place in the Netherlands that directly affects Ukrainians who are covered by the Temporary Protection Directive. The Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND), where Ukrainians apply to confirm their status, obtain documents or undergo checks, no longer operates at its old address in Amsterdam. Now all relevant procedures are carried out in another city.

What exactly has changed, where to go and what to pay attention to — we will tell you more in this article.

Where Ukrainians are now accepted: the new address of the IND centre

Services for Ukrainians who have or are applying for temporary protection have been moved to the city of Utrecht. This is where you need to go for all scheduled appointments, to submit documents or to obtain confirmation from the IND.

New location: Atoomweg 100, 3542 AB Utrecht

Reception at the previous centre ended at the end of November 2025. After this date, all procedures are carried out exclusively in Utrecht. So when planning a trip to the IND, be sure to take into account that the former office no longer accepts Ukrainians.

For which issues do you need to go here?

The new IND centre in Utrecht has become the main location for key procedures related to temporary protection. In particular, here:

– they check whether a person is eligible for temporary protection;

– they issue or renew residence permits;

– they issue documents (stickers or separate ID cards);

– carry out related administrative operations.

Please note! Ukrainians are advised to carefully read the letter from the IND before going to the appointment. In most cases, the address has already been updated to Utrecht, but it is better to check this in advance. This will help avoid unnecessary trips and misunderstandings.

Why is a visit to the IND necessary?

The IND does not simply record the fact that Ukrainians are in the country. It is this service that confirms legal status under protection, allows you to officially live, work, receive social assistance or other rights guaranteed by the directive. Therefore, a visit to the centre is a mandatory and important part of legalising your stay in the Netherlands.

Do you need qualified legal assistance in migration matters?

If you have doubts about your documents, do not understand whether you are eligible for temporary protection, are in a difficult situation or do not want to take risks due to bureaucratic errors — do not deal with this alone. The Visit Ukraine portal works with experienced immigration lawyers who help Ukrainians in Europe deal with their status, documents, applications, permit renewals, and complex cases.
