Already in the Book of Records: a unique tourist location has opened in Ukraine

A unique tourist attraction has appeared in the Odessa region — in the village of Molodizhne. It immediately made it into the National Register of Records and became a new point of attraction for travellers. Find out why the site is already being called a must-visit location

A true architectural masterpiece, unrivalled in Ukraine, has appeared in the Odessa region. In the village of Molodizhne, in the New Vasyuki family recreation park, a unique maze made of rapana shells has been built. This structure was immediately entered into the National Register of Records of Ukraine.

What makes this new tourist attraction so unique?

According to the head of the register, Lana Vetrova, the total length of the maze walls is almost half a kilometre — 486 linear metres — and the walls are up to 25 cm thick. The area is equally impressive — 911.3 square metres. To create the location, more than 134 tonnes of shells were needed, which had been collected over the years on the seashore, washed up there by storms. They were then naturally cleaned by the sun, wind and time. It was this patience and painstaking work that made it possible to bring to life the idea of Ukraine's first labyrinth made of rapana shells.

The maze has already become a tourist attraction and attracts the attention of both locals and visitors to the region. Such a location not only amazes with its scale and originality, but also emphasises the uniqueness of the Black Sea's natural resources.
