Few people know that some of the Greek islands are located very close to Turkey. Because of this, mobile phones sometimes automatically connect to Turkish networks, which can result in sky-high roaming bills.

This situation most often occurs in Kastelorizo, Kos, and Rhodes. To avoid unnecessary expenses, it is worth checking your network settings and limiting automatic connection in advance.

Mistake 4. Traveling when the season is already over

Autumn in Greece is considered the off-season. If you are planning a vacation, it is worth doing so before November. After that, the tourist infrastructure gradually “falls asleep”: cruise boats stop sailing even to popular islands such as Santorini or Naxos, and most hotels and restaurants close until spring.
