The active process of business relocation continues in Ukraine. In the first eight months of 2025, 8,345 companies moved from one region to another. This is 10% less than in 2021. A total of 7,988 businesses changed their address, with some of them doing so more than once. This was reported by OpenDataBot, citing data from the Unified State Register.

Which companies change their address most often?

Companies in the trade sector remain the most mobile, accounting for one in three relocations. Companies in the construction (6%), agriculture (5%), and real estate (5%) sectors also frequently change their place of registration.

On the one hand, this indicates the adaptability of businesses to wartime conditions, and on the other, the difficulty of doing business in regions where hostilities are ongoing or economic pressure is increasing.

Where are companies moving from?

The main routes for business relocation were between Kyiv and various regions. The most popular destinations were:

● from Kyiv to the Kyiv region — 494 companies;

● from Kyiv to the Dnipropetrovsk region — 379;

● from the Kyiv region to Kyiv — 378;

● from Kyiv to the Kharkiv region — 358;

● from the Dnipropetrovsk region to Kyiv — 336.

Despite the risks, the Kharkiv region has seen business growth this year: more companies have moved here than have left (+374). The situation is similar in the Zaporizhzhia (+276), Lviv (+161), Zakarpattia (+83), and Kyiv (+77) regions.

At the same time, Kyiv lost the most businesses — the outflow amounted to 2,909 companies, which is 36% of all relocations. Overall, the capital lost 657 more companies than it gained. A negative balance was also observed in Dnipropetrovsk region (-102), Donetsk (-97), Volyn (-83), and Poltava (-62) regions.

Among the regions that are donors of business, apart from Kyiv, the leaders are Dnipropetrovsk (824 companies), Kyiv (770), Odesa (507), and Lviv (451).
