Trains to Zakarpattia return to their usual schedule: details

Ukrzaliznytsia resumes service to Zakarpattia after track modernization. Find out which trains are running again to resort towns, which routes have been extended, and when ticket sales will open

After the completion of scheduled repair work on sections in the Zakarpattia region, JSC Ukrzaliznytsia is returning a number of trains to their usual schedule. As explained by the carrier's press service on Facebook, passenger train service is being resumed after track upgrades. This means that passengers will once again be able to travel on their usual routes, including to Uzhhorod.

Updated train route to Uzhhorod

From July 31, 2025, a number of trains will return to their usual route through key resort stations in Transcarpathia. Passengers can once again conveniently reach Uzhhorod and other cities via:

● Slavske;

● Volovets;

● Svalyava;

● Mukachevo.

This applies to the following trains:

→ No. 3/4 “Zaporizhia – Uzhhorod”;

→ No. 29/30 “Kyiv – Uzhhorod”;

→ No. 46/45 “Uzhhorod – Kharkiv”;

→ No. 368/367 “Uzhhorod – Kovel”.

In addition to the main routes, an additional train No. 283/284 “Kyiv – Uzhhorod” has been scheduled for the summer, which will also run through the specified section. This has been done to meet the increased demand for transportation to the sanatorium and resort areas of Transcarpathia, which are especially popular during the summer season.

Continuation of routes: which trains have changed

In addition to restoring routes, Ukrzaliznytsia is also continuing routes that were previously temporarily terminated in Mukachevo or Chop. They will now run to Uzhhorod again:

→ No. 17/18 (“Skovoroda”) “Kharkiv – Mukachevo”;

→ No. 37/38 “Odessa – Mukachevo”;

→ No. 81/82 “Kyiv – Chop”;

→ No. 749/750 “Kyiv – Chop”;

→ No. 829/830 “Lviv – Chop.”

It has been specified that train No. 59/60 “Kyiv – Uzhhorod” will run to Chop station, and the group of direct carriages “Kamianets-Podilskyi – Chop” will be extended to Uzhhorod.

Ticket sales and train schedule

Ukrzaliznytsia reminds passengers that all trains will return to their regular schedule on July 31, 2025. The schedule is available in the “Passengers” section on the company's official website, under the “Passenger train schedule” tab.

Tickets can be purchased via:

● the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile app;

● the company's website;

● railway ticket offices at stations throughout Ukraine.

Important:

● ticket sales open 20 days before departure for most trains;

● for routes No. 46/45 “Uzhhorod – Kharkiv” and No. 829/830 “Lviv – Uzhhorod” – 10 days before the date of travel.

The company urges passengers to plan their trips in advance, especially during the summer season, when demand increases and carriages fill up quickly.
