How to replace a technical passport at the DII: step-by-step instructions

When can you replace your vehicle registration certificate via Diia?

You can use this service if:

1. You have changed your personal details: surname, first name, patronymic.

2. You have lost or damaged your technical passport.

3. You have installed a new number plate on your car.

4. You have decided to switch from a plastic technical passport to a digital one or vice versa.

Important: if there have been changes in the technical characteristics of the car (for example, the colour of the car, engine capacity or fuel type has changed), you must personally contact the MVS Service Centre.

How to replace a technical passport through Diia?

▪️ Open the Diia app on your smartphone.

▪️ Go to Services → Driver → Replace technical passport.

▪️ Fill out the application, carefully checking all the details.

▪️ Choose a convenient delivery method via Ukrposhta — courier to your home or to a branch.

▪️ Pay for the service within 24 hours, and you're done! Wait for a notification from Ukrposhta about the delivery of your new technical passport.

Please note that this service is also available to Ukrainians abroad.

If you want to replace your technical passport, you can order it through Diia at a Ukrposhta branch in Ukraine. If you are not picking up the technical passport yourself, you will need to issue a power of attorney. Options for issuing a power of attorney:

- Notarised in Ukraine, if it was issued before your departure.

- At a Ukrainian consulate abroad.

- At a local notary abroad, with an apostille and translation into Ukrainian.

After that, the authorised person will be able to collect your new technical passport at the specified Ukrposhta branch upon presentation of the power of attorney and identity document.
