TAKE

From 19 to 25 June 2025, traffic will be temporarily restricted at one of the most popular road border crossings between Slovakia and Ukraine, Ublja-Maly Berezny. This was announced by the State Customs Service of Ukraine.

Reasons for the restrictions

Technical maintenance of the distribution system is being carried out in the area, which will affect the normal functioning of the checkpoint. On the specified dates, from 08:00 to 18:00, document processing and border crossing may be difficult or completely suspended.

The restrictions apply to all road users — motorists, pedestrians and cyclists. The Slovak authorities ask you to exercise caution and strictly follow the instructions of the police and financial administration staff on site.

What are the alternatives

Travellers are advised to plan their route in advance, taking into account possible delays, or to choose other border crossings:

▪️ ‘Vyshne Nemecke – Uzhhorod’ — the nearest road crossing point, where processing continues as usual.

▪️ ‘Velke Slemence – Mali Selmenci’ – open to pedestrians and cyclists.

▪️ Railway crossing ‘Cyrna nad Tisou – Chop’ – operating according to the current train schedule.

If you are planning a trip during this period, we strongly recommend that you check the latest information on the official websites. Also, don't forget that you will need a Green Card to cross the border by car. You can purchase this policy at a favourable price at Visit Ukraine.
