In 2025, updated rules were introduced for admission to postgraduate studies in Ukraine. Now, applicants are required to take not only the traditional Unified Entrance Exam (UEE), but also a new Unified Entrance Test in Research Methodology (UETRM). This was announced by the Ukrainian Centre for Educational Quality Assessment (UCEQA).

What is the EIT and why is it needed?

The Unified Entrance Examination in Research Methodology (EEV) is designed to test the basic knowledge and skills of prospective postgraduate students in the field of scientific activity: logic, research methods, structure of scientific works, analysis and interpretation of data. This test aims to improve the quality of scientific training and provide a more objective assessment of readiness for postgraduate study.

Format of the EIT

The EIT test consists of 100 questions with one correct answer out of four options. The time limit for completing the test is 150 minutes. The scoring system is as follows:

▪️ 1 point for a correct answer;

▪️ 0 points for an incorrect, omitted or multiple answers.

The tasks are compiled in accordance with the official programme developed by the Scientific and Methodological Centre for Higher Education with the participation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

When and where will the test take place?

Applicants will find invitations with the exact date, time and place of the EDI and EEV in their personal accounts on the UCCO website no later than 12 June. It is recommended that you check your account regularly so as not to miss any important information.

By the way, the UCCE provides free access to test collections from previous years, as well as materials to help you prepare for the new EIT. You can find them at the link.

Reminder! We previously reported on when registration for admission to universities in 2025 will begin.
