When do Ukrainians need a visa to enter Croatia?

For short trips within the Schengen area, Ukrainian citizens can stay in Croatia without a visa for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

It is important to know that if you plan to stay in Croatia for more than 90 days or your trips are related to other purposes (work, study, family reunification), you must obtain the appropriate visa.

A visa is required in the following cases:

– For long-term tourist trips (more than 90 days).

– For trips ‘for a purpose’ (work, study, family reunification, etc.).

How to apply for a visa to enter Croatia?

Step 1. Determine the type of visa.

First of all, you need to determine the type of visa that corresponds to the purpose of your trip. For short-term trips, a Schengen visa will suffice, and for long-term trips, a national visa is required.

Step 2. Prepare documents.

To apply for a visa, you need to collect a complete set of documents.

Step 3. Make an appointment to submit documents to the consulate.

To apply for a visa, you need to make an appointment at the Croatian consulate or through a visa centre, if there is one in your city.

Step 4. Submit documents and pay fees.

Once all documents are ready, you need to submit them to the consulate or visa centre and pay the consular fee.

Step 5. Obtain a visa.

Visa processing times may vary depending on the type of visa and the workload of the consulate. The process usually takes between 5 and 15 working days. The visa can be delivered by post or you can collect it in person.

What documents are required for a visa to Croatia?

The documents required for a visa include:

– A passport valid for at least 3 months after the planned date of departure.

– Visa application form.

– Passport-size photo.

– Proof of financial solvency (bank statements, certificates from your place of work).

– Proof of the purpose of your trip (invitation, contract, certificate from an educational institution, etc.).

– Ticket reservations or confirmation of other means of transport.

– For minors – permission from parents if they are travelling without one of their parents.

– Insurance policy covering medical expenses within the Schengen area for at least €30,000.

By the way, you can get medical insurance for travelling abroad on the Visit Ukraine portal.

The policy meets all Schengen requirements and provides reliable protection while you are in another country.

How can you avoid mistakes when applying for a visa to Croatia?

One of the most common mistakes is an incomplete or incorrectly filled out application form, photos that do not meet the requirements, and the absence of important documents, such as proof of financial solvency or medical insurance. To avoid these mistakes, we recommend that you carefully check that your documents meet the consulate's requirements before submitting them.

If you are unsure about the correctness of the application, please contact specialists who have experience in visa documentation.
