The lilac blossom season, one of the capital's favorite spring symbols, has begun in Kyiv. The first bushes have already begun to cover themselves with fragrant inflorescences, and city residents can enjoy this spectacle in numerous parks and squares.
According to the Kyiv City State Administration, in addition to the famous botanical gardens, lilacs grow in many green areas throughout the city.
The most popular locations are the Academician Fomin Botanical Garden and the Hryshko National Botanical Garden. It is here that numerous varieties of lilacs are collected, which bloom at different times. Depending on the variety, lilacs can bloom from a few weeks to several months.
However, you can also enjoy the beauty of spring lilacs in other parts of the capital.
