This year, 65% of Ukrainians plan to celebrate March 8, while the number of women who do not expect gifts on this day is growing. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by Viber representatives among 60 thousand messenger users.

Will Ukrainians celebrate March 8 in 2024?

It is known that in 2023, it was proposed to move the holiday to February 25 and change its name to Ukrainian Women's Day.

The question about plans to celebrate International Women's Day this year showed that 59% of respondents will continue to celebrate on March 8, 5% have already celebrated in February, 6% plan to celebrate on both dates, and 30% will not celebrate at all.

A separate survey among women revealed their expectations for greetings and gifts on this day. The results were as follows: 

• 34% expect gifts from loved ones;

• 24% do not expect any gifts at all;

• 15% expect congratulations from relatives and colleagues;

• 14% expect only verbal greetings;

• 13% believe that the best gift is assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 

It is noted that the anonymous survey was conducted among Ukrainians aged 35-45.
