Tel Aviv International Airport continues to operate, but many airlines have decided to cancel or reroute their flights due to the outbreak of war in Israel.

Israeli airspace is open for aviation: details

After the Hamas attack, Israel declared a state of war and European foreign ministries are advising their citizens to leave the country immediately. Some states are also preparing for possible evacuation. 

The most dangerous regions to avoid, according to the UK Foreign Office, include:

• Gaza Strip and the border area from Ashkelon to Tlalim;

• Shebaa and Ghajar farms;

• The border with Lebanon;

• The border with Syria.

You should also be especially cautious in the cities of Tel Aviv, Beersheba, Hadera, Jerusalem, Nablus, Jenin, at Israeli checkpoints and in the immediate vicinity of Palestinian refugee camps.

Which airlines continue to operate flights to and from Israel?

According to euronews.com, Tel Aviv International Airport is still operating, but many airlines have made changes to their flights. 

It is recommended to contact your carrier to find out the latest information about your flight. This applies in particular to American carriers such as American Airlines, United Airlines, and Delta Airlines, as well as European operators such as Lufthansa, AirFrance, Finnair, and others.

EasyJet has canceled flights to Tel Aviv and announced that it will soon present a flight schedule for the following days. Similar decisions were made by LOT, Transavia, British Airways, Ryanair, and Air Astana.

Low-cost airline Wizz Air redirected flights to Israel to Larnaca in Cyprus when the Hamas attack began.

Portuguese airline TAP has suspended all its flights to Israel and offers full refunds or flight rescheduling at no additional cost.

Israeli airline El Al confirmed its cooperation with the security forces and compliance with all their instructions, continuing to operate flights according to the usual schedule.
