Which regions of Germany will accept Ukrainians in June 2025: current camp addresses

The federal states of Germany continue to accept Ukrainian refugees and provide them with support. However, certain categories of migrants may encounter difficulties when entering the country. Find out the latest information on the addresses of refugee camps, learn about accommodation conditions and the latest changes to entry rules
Germany has identified specific regions and camps for the reception of Ukrainian refugees, each with its own characteristics. It is important to note that re-registration at one's own request is practically impossible, except in isolated cases.
Therefore, in order to choose the most comfortable conditions for yourself, you need to carefully consider the available options. There are currently predicted restrictions on accommodation in these camps in the future.
For detailed and up-to-date information on ‘camps for displaced persons’ as of June 2025, please refer to our article.
Camp for displaced persons and basic conditions of its operation
Camps for displaced persons in Germany are the main reception and distribution points for refugees. It is here that it is decided to which region of the country a person will be sent, and it is impossible to predict this in advance. Usually, Ukrainians remain in the region where they first arrived. However, if there are no vacancies at this point, the refugee may be sent to another region.
You can only choose a camp upon arrival, so we recommend choosing the one that is most convenient for you to reach. It is important to remember that the choice of camp is made only once. After registering in one region, you will not be accepted in others.
Forced migrants are required to live in the area to which they have been assigned. To move, you need a special document and valid reasons, such as:
– employment in another region;
– marriage;
– maintenance of minor children.
The housing situation in Germany is currently difficult. Many migrants are forced to live in temporary accommodation such as hangars, dormitories or converted sports halls. Although the temporary protection programme under ‘Paragraph 24’ provides a basis for accommodating refugees from Ukraine, it cannot completely solve the housing problem for more than a million migrants.
Important! Camps for displaced persons operate 24/7.
