Whether you are traveling on business or just decided to change the scenery for the weekend, stops on the way from Kyiv to Vinnytsia can turn an ordinary trip into a real adventure. Here's how to make the 270 km route interesting and informative.
Bila Tserkva. Alexandria - a park of history and nature
Your first stop on the way from Kyiv to Vinnytsia may be in Bila Tserkva, 80 km from the capital. The city is known for its green spaces and is generally considered the unofficial “landscape design capital” of Ukraine. The main location of Bila Tserkva, known all over the world and loved by tourists, is the Alexandria Arboretum, founded in the late eighteenth century. The park stretches over 400 hectares and is one of the largest in Ukraine!
In addition to the variety of plants, there are picturesque ponds, ancient sculptures and many romantic alleys that look especially fascinating in the fall. In the arboretum, you can enjoy the natural silence, take vivid photos, and recharge your batteries before your next trip.
Earlier, we wrote about botanical gardens in Ukraine worth visiting in the fall
Skvyra. The land of folk crafts and cultural recreation
From Bila Tserkva, continue on the P32 highway in the direction of Skvyra. It is about 40 km southwest, and the road passes through picturesque fields and colorful villages. Skvyra is a small but quite old town, the first mention of which dates back to the XIV century.
The monumental architecture of this city immediately catches the eye and Skvyra is famous throughout Ukraine for its folk culture and crafts. In the city center, you can visit local workshops where ceramics, embroidery and various decorative items are made. Skvyra is a good opportunity to buy authentic souvenirs and at the same time get acquainted with the traditions of local crafts. The hospitality of the locals is excellent.

Buky Landscape Park - a man-made wonder instead of a landfill
After deviating from the route for some 13 km and turning north from Skvyra, you can find yourself in another amazing landscape park in Ukraine. The Buka Park was created on the site of a landfill in 1996, at the expense of businessman Ivan Suslov, who also built his estate here, which is open to the public.
Today, the park has a modern look and has developed an infrastructure for recreation, both purposeful and improvised, on the road. There is a mini-zoo for the youngest guests, numerous sculptures for photo shoots, shops with fast food and ice cream, a church with a chapel, and even a mini-hotel! And there are also just beautiful landscapes, atmospheric alleys with benches and fountains, and works of landscape design - they are everywhere.
Pohrebyshche. A small town with a big history
After driving about 60 km from Skvyra along the P32 highway, you will find yourself in the Vinnytsia region town of Pohrebyshche, located in the upper reaches of the Rosa River. The road passes through the town of Volodarka and the local villages, and the journey itself will take about 1 hour. Pohrebyshche is also an ancient town - it was founded in the XVI century, but it has retained its authentic atmosphere to this day.
It is worth visiting the historical and cultural sights, including the ancient wooden church of St. Nicholas and the remains of defensive structures of the past centuries. The city park in Pohrebyshche is the remains of the estate of the counts Rzhevuski, who owned the city in the XVIII-XIX centuries.
Lipovets. Hlynske springs - a breath of health on the road
From Pohrebyshche, continue moving in the direction of Vinnytsia on the T0216 highway (highway O 020301) and after 40 km you will find yourself in Lipovtsi. The road passes mainly through the countryside, which is interesting for tourists, but Lipovtsi has something more useful for travelers.
Namely, natural springs, in particular, Hlynski springs, which are famous for their healing properties. Thanks to these springs and the healing nature in general, there are many sanatoriums in Lipovtsy, and the town's tourist infrastructure is quite well developed. Here you can enjoy the beauty of nature and get a free drink or take clean spring water with you on your trip.
Nemyriv. Princess Shcherbatova's Palace: the cultural program on the road is complete!
Another stop before Vinnytsia can be the city of Nemyriv, which is 35 km from the end point of the trip. You can get from Lipovtsi to Nemyriv by the T0227 highway. The city is world famous for its vodka brand, but not the only vodka in Nemyriv.
It is also home to one of the most famous architectural landmarks in Vinnytsia region - the palace of Princess Shcherbatova. Built in the neoclassical style, it attracts tourists who are eager to explore it and take pictures nearby. This Nemyriv palace is surrounded by a large park, which is a place of rest for everyone.
Bush. Interested in history? Stop by here!
If you want to continue your journey to the interesting corners of Ukraine, visit the village of Busha, which is located about 50 km southwest of Nemyriv. The place is known for its state historical and cultural reserve, which preserves archeological, historical, and cultural monuments from all over Ukraine.
In the reserve, you can see the remains of an ancient fortress, a cave temple with unique reliefs dating back to the 17th century, and feel the spirit of ancient times on the territory of archaeological excavations that have been carried out here throughout the 2000s.
