How to get from Italy to Ukraine?
• By plane with a stopover
It is currently impossible to get to Ukraine directly by plane, but you can choose a connecting flight.
Direct flights from Venice or Bologna to Suceava (Romania) are operated by WizzAir, with a ticket costing from 14 euros.
From Suceava you can easily get to Chernivtsi, there is a daily bus from the bus station, the journey to Chernivtsi takes 2-3 hours.
WizzAir and Ryanair operate direct flights from Pescara, Cagliari, Rimini, Pisa, Trapani, Milan, and other cities to Warsaw (Poland), with tickets costing from 15 euros.
From Venice, Bologna, Perugia, and Milan, you can choose a direct flight to Vienna (Austria), operated by Ryanair, with a ticket price starting at 13 euros.
You can also fly from Venice, Bologna, Catania, Rimini, and other cities to another Polish city, Katowice. Direct flights are operated by WizzAir and Ryanair, with a ticket costing from 15 euros.
Another option to get from Italy to Ukraine is via the Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca. Direct flights from Milan, Bari, Catania, Bologna, Naples, and other cities are operated by WizzAir and Ryanair, with a ticket costing from 14 euros.
• By train
You can get from Warsaw to Kyiv by direct train of Ukrzaliznytsia #068. With a change of train via Przemyśl, you can get to Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, and Kharkiv. We wrote more about these routes here.
From Katowice, you can get to various Ukrainian cities by direct bus or by train with a stopover in Przemyśl.
And from Vienna you can get to Lviv or Kyiv, Ukraine, by direct bus from FlixBus or by direct train from Ukrzaliznytsia #149.
You can get from Cluj-Napoca to Rakhiv by train with one stopover. First, you need to buy a ticket Cluj-Napoca - Vala Viseului on Romanian railways, and from Vala Viseului to Rakhiv you can go by train from Ukrzaliznytsia #754 and #756.

• By bus
Traveling from Italy to Ukraine by bus will take you more than a day.
There are no direct routes, but FlixBuss offers one-stop buses from Milan, Florence, Bologna and other cities to Kyiv, Lviv, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr. The ticket price depends on the selected cities.
Direct buses run from Warsaw to Lutsk, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Lviv and other Ukrainian cities. In particular, such flights are operated by Autolux, FlixBus and others, and the ticket price depends on the final city of arrival.
