MitID è una carta d'identità digitale rilasciata a tutti i titolari di un numero di identificazione fiscale individuale in Danimarca. Scopri di più su perché ne hai bisogno e come usarla
Denmark provides an opportunity to use public and private services online. To do so, citizens need to have a personal digital identifier called MitID. We will tell you who needs it and where to use it.
What is MitID?
MitID is a digital certificate issued to all holders of an individual identification number (Det Centrale Personregister Number) in Denmark.
It is worth noting that MitID came into force recently. Previously, the country used NemID. Currently, there are still private companies that use the previous tool, so if you need it, you can apply for it at the Citizens' Service Center.
How do I get a MitID?
MitID can be obtained by persons over 15 years of age who have a civil registration number in Denmark (CPR number).
There are several ways to get the code, including:
• scan your passport or ID card in the MitID app;
• contact the Citizen Service Center, where refugees from Ukraine are registered upon arrival in Denmark.
Please note that your smartphone must scan the chip in your passport or ID card. For this purpose, modern models are suitable - iPhone 7 (or later) or a new phone with the Android platform. For instructions on how to get a MitID through the application, follow the link.
When visiting the center, bring your documents with you and be prepared to answer personal questions.
Foreigners are advised to bring a witness who can provide information about the MitID applicant. The witness can be an adult who has had his/her own MitID for more than 10 days.
It should be added that he or she must bring a passport or driver's license and testify no more than three times in 120 days.
Where do I need to use MitID?
This digital identifier is needed for digital self-service. In the public sector, for example, you may need the following services, which can be easily arranged online with MitID:
• Change your address;
• apply for childcare; and
• find out about paying taxes
• choose a doctor;
• read your digital mail (Digital Post);
• use banking services;
• leave Denmark.
MitID can be used by those who are legally in Denmark to confirm their identity and add an electronic signature when necessary.
