The German authorities revised the rules of stay for immigrants. From September 1, 2022, citizens of Ukraine who are fleeing a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, coming to Germany without a visa, will not be forced to register immediately. It will be possible to apply for temporary protection status until hostilities cease.
The new laws provide for visa-free days for Ukrainian citizens fleeing the war. What does it mean?
According to the updated rules for the stay of Ukrainian refugees in Germany, citizens of Ukraine must take care of their status in order to stay in the country legally.
It is important to apply for temporary protection status in advance, as it will be impossible to stay in the country for more than 90 days. Otherwise, you will have to leave Germany for three months.
Attention! If the period of visa-free stay (90 days from the day of crossing the border) falls between September 1 and December 1, it is also necessary to submit an application for registration.
