Ukrainian “Provence” is expanding: from Transcarpathia to Podillia and Bessarabia, new lavender locations are added every year. The 2025 season in most regions started in the first half of June and lasts approximately until the end of July (in the mountains — longer, in hotter areas, peak flowering passes more quickly).

There is a variety of formats, from large commercial parks and agro-farms to small private fields with events, photo days, and lavender-based gastronomic products.

Kyiv region: Dobropark (Motyzhin village)

One of the largest exhibitions (tens of thousands of bushes) and the most accessible for visitors to the capital: daily schedule during the lavender season, extensive infrastructure (café, lounge, numerous photo zones).

The peak flowering period is in mid/late June to early July, but visually appealing areas remain until the end of the month and partly into July (depending on the weather). Tickets are priced differently depending on the day of the week.

Lviv region: Fairytale Fields, Strilky village + micro-locations around Lviv

Fairytale Fields combine lavender with hydrangeas, roses, and ornamental plants; themed events, picnics, and photo days are held here. The location is about 25 km from Lviv and is open all day on weekends during the June–August season (lavender is the main attraction in the first half of summer).

Nearby, there are smaller venues such as Lavender Dream House (Malkiv village) with about 600 bushes, house rentals, and additional services (hot tub, sauna, swimming pool, BBQ, props for photo shoots). Advance booking is important to avoid queues.

Poltava region: Lavender Family (Pishchane village), Sas Lavender / Scents and Sensations (Sasynivka / Bilotserkivtsi) and others

The region is developing as a center for lavender tourism: several private farms offer bouquets, seedlings, products (tea, honey, gourmet items, lavender pastries), workshops, and photo shoots with hourly rentals.

Some locations have an entrance fee or photo shoot rates, while others are more open (check individually; prices and conditions vary from a small fee to hourly rates). Peak season: 3–4 weeks between the third week of June and mid-July.

Transcarpathia: Lavender Mountain, Turychky village (Perechyn district)

One of the most atmospheric mountain locations: natural Carpathian hills as a backdrop, organized photo zones, tastings, relaxation area, souvenirs. The 2025 season officially opened on June 7 and is scheduled to run until the end of July; the schedule on weekdays is often shorter, so it is worth checking for updates before your trip.

Entrance fee: 200 UAH (reduced rate: 100 UAH). The best time for photos is early morning or evening after 5 p.m.

Volyn: Lutsk Provence (Lyshche village) and new small fields near Lutsk/Zhydychyna

An intimate atmosphere without crowds of tourists: several hundred bushes are suitable for family and portrait photography. During the season, cut bouquets, fragrant sachets, and the possibility of booking photo sessions during peak hours are offered. Additional locations are expanding (the opening of a lavender field near Zhydychyna is announced for the end of June) — it is worth monitoring social media to catch morning/evening slots.

Odesa region (Bessarabia): Vasylivka, Bolhrad district

One of the largest (industrial) plantations — dozens of hectares (sources mention a scale of up to several dozen, sometimes positioning it as one of the largest in Ukraine).

Photogenic long lines of bushes, spectacular views at dawn and before sunset. During part of the season, admission was free or for a nominal fee (check social media/local community for details).

Bukovina: Magala village (Chernivtsi district)

A popular field (about 1.5 hectares in previous seasons) with classic purple rows, open daily during the peak season with extended summer hours (until evening).

They offer basic photo zones, the possibility of morning or after 7 p.m. shoots for softer light and fewer visitors; weekends are traditionally more crowded.

Vinnytsia region (Podillia): Tyvriv (Lavender Podillia), Ksaverivka, Shchedri Lany eco-farm, and others

A regional mosaic of small and medium-sized private fields: in Tyvriv, visitors are guided by a daytime schedule, and the cluster season lasts until early/mid-July (depending on the weather).

Near Vinnytsia (Ksaveriwka) — half a hectare of plantings, creating a semi-chamber format for photo shoots; some of the fields are open with extended hours until evening. The Shchedri Lany eco-farm is developing a concept of self-picking/agritourism. Check the current status before your trip — the tops of the inflorescences burn quickly in the heat.

Cherkasy region: Lavender Coast, Dybynci, Velyki Kanivtsi, Kovrai (Lavender in the countryside)

The region is actively adding new locations: in addition to the already well-known photo fields, new plantations have appeared (Velyki Kanivtsi — a field on the riverbank; Kovrai — about 12 acres and ~500 bushes). Some sites operate in a short peak window format (for example, individual plots from June 20 to approximately July 10, which should be taken into account when planning).

Lavender Beach is holding its first full seasons with expanded options for photo shoots.

Additional/niche locations (Lviv region and other examples of chamber formats)

Individual estates and private micro-projects (e.g., Lavender Dream House in Malehiv and other designer lavender courtyards) combine recreational rentals with photo content, complementing the infrastructure (plunge pools, sauna, BBQ, props).

The “house + lavender courtyard” format allows you to combine a photo shoot with relaxation for a small group and less dependence on the mass flow of people.

What interesting things can you buy in the lavender fields? Products and gastronomy

Some farms focus on local craft products: dried lavender, essential oils, teas, baked goods and desserts with flowers, themed souvenirs (Sas Lavender as an example of organic production; Poltava farms offer honey and tea; Dobropark — seasonal food zones).

This expands the trip profile from photos to a gastronomic experience and allows you to support local producers.

Short checklist before the trip

1. Check official websites/social media 24–12 hours in advance (schedule, flowering status, whether closed for private photography).

2. Book a photographer/slot for popular fields (Poltava, Lviv, Kyiv regions).

3. Clothing and props: neutral pastel colors, hat, flat shoes for walking between rows.

4. Respect the space: do not move props without permission, do not feed animals (if there is an eco-farm), pick up trash.
