Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air has announced a major expansion of its network from the Romanian city of Suceava, an airport located just 40 km from the Ukrainian border. This is particularly important for residents of western Ukraine who are looking for affordable and convenient flight options to Europe.

And in September 2025, another important route will be launched — to Vienna (Austria).

A convenient hub for Ukrainians
Sucyavsky Airport is rapidly becoming a key hub for residents of the border regions of Ukraine, particularly Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Khmelnytskyi.
Thanks to regular bus connections with Chernivtsi and its proximity to the Porubne checkpoint, the airport can be reached in less than an hour.
An alternative to Polish and Moldovan airports
The expansion of the Wizz Air network from Suceava is a viable alternative to flights from Poland or Moldova, which are often overcrowded and expensive.
Wizz Air's low-cost flights, the airport's convenient location, and quick border crossing make Suceava an increasingly attractive option for Ukrainian travelers.
