A unique museum of mathematics, Kuboid, has opened in Kyiv, becoming the first of its kind in Ukraine and the fourth in Europe, according to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
This new educational space aims to popularise mathematics and STEM subjects among schoolchildren and students, giving visitors the opportunity not only to see but also to feel how abstract formulas become reality. The Kuboid Museum promises to become an important centre for the development of logical thinking, as well as for overcoming educational losses and improving the quality of education in Ukraine.
What is the Kuboid Museum about?
The museum was created with the aim of improving STEM education in Ukraine by offering students and teachers a space for active interaction with mathematical concepts through interactive exhibits. Through such educational and entertaining activities, the museum helps children and teenagers learn how to apply mathematical knowledge in real life.
Oksen Lisovyi, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, noted that the museum is an important step in creating modern educational spaces that promote interest in the exact sciences. For teachers, it is not only a place to exchange experiences, but also an opportunity for professional growth.

Exhibitions and areas of the museum
The Kuboid Museum consists of eight unique areas, each of which allows visitors to explore different aspects of mathematics and its application in everyday life:
▪️ ‘Mathematics and Everyday Life’ is an area where visitors can learn how mathematics is used in sports, engineering and technology. For example, you can ride a snowboard and learn about angles and their effect on movement.
▪️ ‘Tesseract’ is an exhibition dedicated to geometry, where you can enter the centre of Voronoi's diagram and explore geometric shapes found in our environment.
▪️ Pendulums and Measurements is an area where you can experiment with movement, time and space, study patterns in the human body and the interaction between mathematics and art.
▪️ ‘Geometry and Mechanisms’ is an area with various mechanisms and gears where you can experiment with numerical combinations and explore scientific transformations of functions.
▪️ ‘Shapes and formulas’ – a space where mathematical equations become real objects, showing how abstract concepts are embodied in the shapes of the surrounding world.
▪️ ‘Creativity Space’ is a laboratory for creating models of airplanes, rockets, and other structures, where every visitor can unleash their imagination and creative abilities.
▪️ ‘Wit Space’ is an area with over 30 logic puzzles aimed at developing critical thinking.
▪️ ‘Classrooms’ are specially equipped rooms for lessons, master classes, and workshops where you can study mathematics and other subjects in depth.
