The Ministry of Health of Poland made a statement regarding the need to vaccinate Ukrainian children. Children and young people under the age of 19 who arrived in Poland after February 24, 2022, must be vaccinated according to the vaccination calendar.

The youngest Ukrainians living in Poland for more than three months must receive vaccines according to the program of preventive vaccinations. Without appropriate vaccines, children will not be able to attend schools, kindergartens, and other educational institutions.

What vaccinations are mandatory?

The 2022 immunization schedule lists the main vaccines for children, taking into account age. In Poland, children are primarily vaccinated against:

• Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR vaccine);

• Diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough and poliomyelitis;

• Hepatitis B.

It is also recommended to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

If your child has been in contact with a person with tetanus, rabies or another dangerous virus, you need to see a doctor immediately for emergency immunization.

The vaccination calendar for 2022 can be viewed at this link.

Vaccination of newborns

Babies born in Poland must be vaccinated against tuberculosis and hepatitis B. Subsequent vaccinations will be given according to the calendar.

How to register a child for vaccination

Before vaccination, it is necessary to agree on the vaccination plan with the child's doctor. Visit a medical facility and register your child with a pediatrician. After the examination, the doctor will administer vaccination and enter the data into the card. It is also important to agree on an individual vaccination plan.

We remind you that for Ukrainians who came to Poland because of the war, a visit to a state hospital or polyclinic and vaccination are free.

You can find the nearest family doctor by calling the free 24-hour phone number 800 190 590.

Family doctors are available from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. by appointment.

To receive medical assistance, you must have a foreign passport with the date of border crossing or a document confirming the date of border crossing by the Polish border service.
