On June 1, 2025, important changes to the 800 Plus program will come into force in Poland, which will primarily affect Ukrainian citizens. According to the ZUS, the assistance will be granted only to those families whose children attend Polish schools. These changes will affect many Ukrainian refugees who used the program. Let's look at the details and possible alternatives for Ukrainians.

What changes will take place in the 800 Plus program?

The 800 Plus program is a social benefit paid for every child under the age of 18 in Poland. Previously, this assistance was provided regardless of the child's place of study. However, starting from June 1, 2025, the Polish government will introduce a new criterion - only those families whose children study in Polish schools will be able to receive payments.

According to Polish Deputy Minister of Education Joanna Mucha, since the beginning of 2024, the number of Ukrainian children eligible for 800 Plus has decreased by 20,000. This is a consequence of the gradual introduction of the new criterion, which will become mandatory from June 1, 2025.

How to apply for the benefit and what are the application deadlines?

To receive 800 Plus in 2025-2026, you need to apply exclusively online through the following services:

● The PUE ZUS electronic services platform (eZUS);

● Electronic banking;

● Emp@tia portal;

● Mobile application mZUS.

The application must be submitted by April 30, 2025 to receive payments without interruption. If you apply after this date but before June 30, payments will be accrued with a delay, but with compensation for previous months. If you apply after June 30, payments will start only from the month of application.
