On 27 February, Ukrzaliznytsia launches the first ever international children's carriage in its history - as part of train No. 351 Kyiv - Chisinau.

Tickets for the new service are already available for purchase: they are marked with a special ‘children's’ label.

What is the essence of children's carriages in trains?

The idea of a children's carriage is to provide a comfortable and safe journey for families with children, including the youngest ones. Traditionally, parents have faced a number of inconveniences on trains: a lack of changing facilities, limited space for games, difficulties with transporting prams, etc. The new carriage should solve these problems while offering educational leisure for children.

What features does the new carriage have?

According to the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia, the carriage is fully certified for international traffic and is adapted to the needs of children of all ages. Among the main advantages:

🔻 Ramps for strollers. Thanks to special ramps, passengers will no longer have to experience difficulties with lifting and lowering strollers.

🔻 Themed compartments with ‘Sparks of Superpowers’. This is a set of free developmental tools and techniques for preschoolers that exist in the format of a cartoon series, puppet theatre and a collection of stories. In the themed compartments, children can not only travel but also learn in an exciting playful way.

🔻 Playpens for the little ones. Parents do not need to puzzle over where to put the baby to sleep or how to provide a safe play area.

🔻 Changing tables. A special place for changing and caring for babies is an important detail of any ‘children's’ space.

🔻 Hypoallergenic baby bedding. The carriage is equipped with a special set of bedding, reducing the risk of allergic reactions.

🔻 Children's menu and baby food heating. Food is a separate concern on the road. A children's menu and the ability to heat food will greatly simplify the task for parents.

🔻 Protected sides of the upper shelves. Special sides help to protect the child from falling if they need to sleep on the top shelf.
