The British fintech company Revolut has announced the official launch of its operations in Ukraine and the expansion of its list of services for Ukrainian users. Here's what services are now available to citizens.
New Revolut services in Ukraine
On Tuesday, 11 February, the British fintech company Revolut announced the launch of its operations in Ukraine. Starting from that day, Ukrainians can open a European Revolut account and get access to a number of services, including instant and free transfers between users of the app.
Revolut also announced that it is offering favourable rates, allowing account holders to transfer, exchange and spend funds in more than 30 currencies worldwide without high fees.
Revolut was also the first foreign bank to integrate user identification through the Diia platform. When you register with Revolut, you will be redirected to the Diia app. There you need to confirm that a copy of your digital ID card or passport has been sent. To do this, you need to have activated Diia.Signature and pass a quick photo verification.
Revolut has developed a VISA debit card called Clear Sky. Users from the UK and the European Economic Area will be able to get this card for a symbolic donation of £5 (or the equivalent in euros), while for customers in Ukraine, the Clear Sky card will be available free of charge.

What do you know about Revolut?
Revolut is a global financial app and fintech company that describes itself as an ‘alternative to digital banking’. It was founded in July 2015 by Russian-British entrepreneur and former Lehman Brothers and Credit Suisse trader Nikolai Storonsky and Ukrainian billionaire Vlad Yatsenko, who previously developed financial systems for investment banks.
Initially, Revolut was a prepaid card and mobile app that allowed travellers to exchange currency at a favourable rate. The idea for the service stemmed from Storonsky's disappointment with the currency exchange products available at the time. Since then, the company has significantly expanded its range of services. Today, Revolut has more than 50 million customers worldwide.
Account management, as in many Ukrainian banks, is carried out through a mobile application that can be downloaded to a smartphone for free.
We remind you! Next year, Ukraine plans to introduce a funded pension system. We explained what this means for citizens, how the new system will work and who will be able to use their savings.
