Tourism in Ukraine continues to demonstrate resilience and development even in difficult times. The State Agency for Tourism Development has calculated the amount of taxes paid by the industry in 2024, and the results are impressive - almost UAH 3 billion.

Growth of tourism revenues: key figures

In 2024, Ukraine's tourism industry paid UAH 2 billion 938 million in taxes to the state budget. This is a significant increase compared to 2023, when the amount amounted to UAH 2 billion 49 million, and even exceeds the figure for 2021 before the full-scale invasion (UAH 2 billion 232 million).

Dynamics of taxpayers

In 2024, the number of taxpayers in the tourism sector increased by 7% compared to 2023. The number of legal entities remained at 3.5 thousand, while the number of individual entrepreneurs increased by 9%. However, compared to 2021, the overall reduction in taxpayers was 20%.

Who provided the largest revenues?

Hotels are the main driver of tourism

Hotels made the main contribution to tax revenues, paying UAH 1 billion 954 million. This is almost twice as much as in 2023 (UAH 1 billion 304 million) and exceeds the figure for 2021 (UAH 1 billion 289 million).

Tour operators

Tax revenues from tour operators have also increased significantly - UAH 304.7 million compared to UAH 205.8 million in 2023. This is even more than in 2021 (UAH 259 million).

Revenues from these accommodation facilities also increased - UAH 201.1 million in 2024 compared to UAH 145.9 million in 2023.
