The movement of empty trucks has started on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border. Now this type of transport will be able to cross the border only by registering in an electronic queue.

New rules

According to Ukrtransbezpeka, starting from 2 December, empty trucks at the Luzhanka-Beregsurany checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border can cross the border only by appointment on the website echerha.gov.ua or through the eChezha app.

It should be noted that registration for crossing the border at the above-mentioned point starts on 1 December (Sunday) at 12:00. The actual movement of trucks under the new registration will start on 2 December (Monday) at 11:00 (Ukrainian time).

Only dump trucks and tilt trucks will be able to cross the border at this section.

How do I book a place in the eCheck?

To book a place in the system, you need to:

- on the website echerha.gov.ua click ‘Join the queue’;

- select the type of transport and click ‘Join the queue’;

- select a checkpoint;

- fill in the driver's data, vehicle data;

- check all the entered data and click ‘Join the queue’.

Please note that to travel abroad in a car registered in Ukraine, you must have international insurance (Green Card). You can apply for a Green Card policy from a licensed insurer on the Visit Ukraine portal. Packages are available for different periods from 15 days to 1 year for cars and trucks, trailers and semi-trailers for trucks, as well as motorcycles and scooters.
