In the last month of autumn, famous tourist destinations acquire a unique atmosphere: waterfalls become more mystical, forests covered in fog evoke a sense of fairy tale, and historical monuments seem even more majestic and significant. We're going to tell you which locations on the map of Ukraine best reflect the spirit of Ukrainian late autumn.
Carpathians: mountains, vats, and thermal waters
Carpathians are a great choice for a vacation at any time of the year, but when it comes to November, famous mountain resorts such as Yaremche, Slavske, Bukovel, and others will offer not only the charm of the last days of golden autumn, but also the opportunity to witness the first snow. After all, snow always falls in the Carpathians earlier than in other regions of Ukraine. In addition, November in the Carpathians offers unlimited recreational opportunities.
In Zakarpattia, there are thermal complexes in Kosyno and Berehove, which have healing properties and are especially pleasant in the cool autumn. After an active day, you can relax in hot tubs in nature or visit deer and buffalo farms, where you can get to know the local fauna. And the Carpathian flora will pursue you at every step.
Bukovyna, Khotyn Fortress, Chernivtsi: an autumnal multicultural ensemble
Bukovyna is a glorious culture, an archaic heritage, and friendly locals. And Bukovyna is also, of course, the Khotyn Fortress. One of the largest and most famous fortresses in Ukraine, it is interesting for tourists all year round. But it is the atmosphere of November that gives Khotyn Fortress a special mystery, majesty, and even wisdom.
Chernivtsi is located next to this tourist destination, famous for its architectural ensemble. There is charm, uniqueness of style, and... Chernivtsi National University, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has unique visual properties that are ideal for photo shoots.

Butte Canyon: almost dramatic landscapes
Located in the very scenic Cherkasy region, Butsky Canyon stands out for its rocky shores and crystal waters of the Gorny Tikich River. This is an ideal place for hiking and relaxing, but in the fall the canyon becomes especially picturesque and colorful due to the contrast of golden foliage edging and dark colors of the rocks.
One of the most popular routes here leads to the two-meter-high Vyr waterfall, where the Gorny Tikich River falls right between the rocks and creates an almost dramatic picture. In November, you can also go boating along the canyon, which guarantees unique views.

Kholodnyi Yar - a chamber atmosphere of Scythian lands
Once again, we are talking about the Cherkasy region, which, thanks to its rich nature, surprises tourists at any time of the year. Kholodnyi Yar is a unique historical place in the Cherkasy region, which is famous for its forests with centuries-old oaks and the remnants of the Scythian and Cossack history of these places.
Also, some geologists are sure that the northern part of a huge meteorite crater was located in this area. However, Kholodnyi Yar today is a very touristy and scenic area with a huge number of streams and small rivers that flow into the Tiasmin. Motronyne, a Scythian settlement with an area of about 200 hectares, is also located here. November here is especially atmospheric: nature freezes before winter, giving this area a chamber character, which is reflected in the name - Cold Yar.
Chocolate Museum in Odesa: sweet November
Odesa has many tourist attractions, not only for summer resorts, but also for the cold season. Among the unusual locations of this pearl of the sea, it is worth mentioning the Chocolate Museum, which will give you delicious and warm emotions in the cold November. Here you can see about 150 chocolate exhibits. Among the most famous creations are a chocolate dragon that impresses with its size and detail, as well as a giant cake made using the optical illusion technique. Chocolate paintings are also particularly fascinating, as they not only reproduce famous scenes but also delight the eye with a variety of colors and textures. Each stroke is made by hand, which adds elegance and magic to the works.
Visiting Odesa in November is a great opportunity for both family outings and romantic dates, as the cozy exteriors of the local streets envelop you with such a pleasant feeling of peace and joy.

Dzhuryn waterfall. On the verge of visual effects
Dzhuryn Waterfall is considered the largest plain waterfall in Ukraine. Located on the Dzhuryn River, between the villages of Nyrkiv and Ustechko, the waterfall is approximately 16 meters high and its flow reaches 20 meters wide, giving this natural creation a wide, powerful current that divides it into three cascades, each of which falls with a roar, creating an impressive spectacle.
Late autumn gives this area additional visual effects due to the reddish rocks and almost black ground around, which emphasize the unusual nature of this corner of nature. For those who want to enjoy the panorama of the waterfall and take great photos, it is worth going up to the opposite bank of the river. From there, you can enjoy the best view of the cascades falling in a bright frame of reddish rocks.
Basalt pillars - a stone forest at your service in the fall
The Basalt Pillars, located near the village of Basaltove in the Rivne region, is an amazing geological formation that is interesting for its unusual natural structure. This natural complex consists of dark basalt columns ranging in height from 60 cm to 30 meters, formed as a result of hardened lava, which gives the columns unusual geometric shapes, mostly pentagonal or hexagonal. Thus, the location looks like a kind of stone forest, and the autumn fogs and gloomy sky emphasize the severity of these dark columns, creating an atmosphere of mystery.
One of the most picturesque details of this place is the emerald lake that appeared on the site of a flooded quarry. Bright green water contrasting with dark basalt rocks creates a surreal landscape. The heart-shaped island in the middle of the lake adds a special charm to the location and makes it a favorite place for photo shoots.
