How many Ukrainians have found employment in Lithuania?
As of 1 September 2024, 33.9 thousand Ukrainians work in Lithuania. Citizens of Ukraine have been employed since the beginning of the war and work under employment contracts. Refugees work in all municipalities, but most Ukrainians work in Vilnius.
In addition to the capital, the largest number of Ukrainians currently works in Klaipeda - 4.8 thousand, Kaunas - 4.2 thousand, Siauliai - 2.3 thousand, Panevezys - 1.3 thousand, Kaunas district - 1.1 thousand, Klaipeda district - 0.7 thousand, in Marijampolė region. - 0.7 thousand, in Vilnius region - 0.6 thousand.

What professions are popular among Ukrainians?
Most of the refugees work in companies engaged in transport and warehousing (8.9 thousand), manufacturing (7.2 thousand), construction (6.7 thousand), accommodation and catering services (3 thousand).
Almost three thousand Ukrainians work in positions requiring high qualifications. They work as managers in administrative, commercial, industrial and other fields, as healthcare professionals: doctors, nurses, veterinarians, as well as training specialists, IT specialists, physical engineers, legal, social and cultural specialists.
The overwhelming majority of refugees (24,900) work in positions requiring average qualifications. These citizens work as customer service specialists, salespeople, construction workers, metalworking specialists, electromechanical and electronic equipment mechanics, operators of stationary equipment and machinery, and drivers.
Another 6,000 Ukrainians work in low-skilled and unskilled jobs.
How much do Ukrainians earn in Lithuania?
The salaries of Ukrainians range from the minimum wage to almost 2 thousand euros per month, depending on the nature of the work.
It is worth noting that Ukrainian refugees have paid €205 million to the Lithuanian budget over the 2.5 years they have lived in Lithuania. In 2022, Ukrainians paid €45 million to the Lithuanian budget, in 2023 - €95 million, and in the first seven months of this year - €65.2 million.
