WÄHLEN SIE EINE TOUR

At the moment, there is a lot of talk about Ukraine in the world. It is obvious that this arouses curiosity among foreign tourists. Kyiv, the capital of an independent state, immediately comes to mind, along with Khreshchatyk, Independence Square, the Golden Gate, magnificent architecture and an extraordinary landscape (yes, tourists quite often note that it is difficult to move around Kyiv - the building in a hilly area is a sign). However, not only Kyiv can be visited by foreigners. And even the locals don't know about some tourist attractions. The most interesting places that foreign guests should visit in Lviv, Ternopil and Vinnytsia are discussed later in the article.

Lviv

Lviv City Hall

Probably, every tourist first of all wants to see the whole city in general. To do this, we suggest climbing to the observation deck above the Town Hall in the center of Lviv. The building of the Lviv City Council is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Built in the style of Viennese classicism, it has been attracting visitors from all over the world for decades. The excursion is possible on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The price of an entrance ticket for adults is UAH 50, a children's ticket is UAH 20.

High castle in Lviv

Lviv residents themselves recommend visiting the "High Castle" park, located on Zamkova Hill. The park is not a natural attraction, it was planned by the chief city gardener Bauer in 1835. At the moment, the park is recognized as a national property and included in the nature reserve fund of Ukraine. The High Castle is the highest point of the city above sea level (Lvivians themselves recommend visiting it closer to the evening, when the city lights come on).

Lychakiv cemetery

There are many cases when people do not want to choose cemetery tours. And it is obvious! However, a tour of the Lychakiv cemetery in Lviv is an opportunity to get acquainted with the culture of Western Ukraine several centuries ago. "Lychakiv Cemetery" has the status of a museum and covers the history of monumental construction from classicism to post-war stylistics. Here are the burial places of famous writers, artists, sculptors, art critics, architects, composers, ethnographers, etc. Please note that there is a fee to enter the cemetery for group tours.

Ternopil

Vozdvizhenska Church

The construction of the church began in 1636 on the initiative of the Ternopil elder Andriy Pototsky. Almost immediately, the church became the center of the community's cultural and spiritual life, as it covered all spiritual rites - weddings, baptisms, funerals, etc. The extraordinary architecture of the church was acquired after a terrible disaster - the fire of 1778. It was during the reconstruction that it was decided to restore the church in the Baroque style. So now visitors can not only join the spiritual life, but also see beautiful architectural compositions. The church is located at the address: Ternopil, str. Nad Stavom, 16. Open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., except Tuesday (9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.). Tel. for information: 068 417 4872.

Hydropark Topilche

The park significantly changed the territory of the city - a magical park appeared on the site of a marshy wasteland. The hydropark is a monument not only of landscape, but also of history, because visitors can see an ancient Slavic temple that has existed for more than a millennium; collect "living" water from a complex of 5 healing springs on the right bank of the Secret River; travel to the stylized Cossack island and see the world's longest catalpa alley, which now stretches for 1450 m. It is open daily from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., on Saturday and Sunday - from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Ternopil castle

One of the most beautiful castles in Western Ukraine was built in 1540-1548. Currently, it has the status of an architectural monument of national importance. It was last restored in 1956 - after the end of the Second World War. Interesting are the dungeons of the city, where excursions are regularly held. And in 2015, the townspeople initiated the creation of a city museum under the castle, which only increased the interest of tourists. Located at the address: Ternopil, str. Zamkova, 12. Open for visitors from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Vinnitsa

ROSHEN fountain

The largest light-musical fountain in Europe (in the course of the Southern Bug River) is included in the list of the 10 largest in the world. Its uniqueness is that it has the so-called "winterization technology", which allows you to actually "lower" the fountain under water. The use of a laser projector allows you to broadcast a 3D image onto the fountain. The fountain works on the street. Volodymyrska, 48A from 8:30 p.m. every day, except Tuesday.

Water tower

The water tower in Vinnytsia was built in 1911. Now it is located on the European Square. By the way, this is the same tower that can often be seen in tourist brochures. The tower houses the Museum of Afghan soldiers. The museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., except Mondays. Next to the monument is a monument to Hryhoriy Artinov, the chief architect of the city.

Pirogov Museum

The museum is located on the street Pirogov, 155 and is open every day, except Monday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. During the last 20 years of his life, the outstanding scientist-surgeon Mykola Pirogov lived and worked here. At that time, the estate was still called "Chrysnya". The objects of the museum complex include a one-and-a-half-story building, a pharmacy and a church-necropolis, where the embalmed body of M. Pirogov is located.

Of course, these are just a few tourist attractions that may interest you. But believe me: every Ukrainian city has its own "highlights" that attract tourists.

Ukraine has existed for centuries, so in every city you can see extraordinary cultural combinations. On the same street, even in the same building, Gothic and classicism, baroque and the Renaissance can be combined. Don't miss the opportunity to see the extraordinary culture of Eastern Europe!
