Kyiv is an extremely colorful and interesting city that will surprise every tourist with beautiful and picturesque places. Some of them are well-known to all residents and guests of the capital, while others are hidden in secluded corners from tourists and Kyivites. But all of them are definitely worth seeing!

Observation deck at the Hryshko Botanical Garden

In the Hryshko Botanical Garden, there is an observation deck called the Red Yard, stylized in the style of Kievan Rus. Tourists will find a log gate, wooden fences, a palisade, a tower, a platform, and a path. 

Here you can enjoy incredible views of the left bank, the Paton Bridge, and the Darnytskyi Bridge Crossing. There are a large number of signs on the Dnipro slope, so it is quite easy to find the observation deck.

Most of the famous photographs of the Ukrainian capital buried in lilacs were taken here. This observation deck is a real teleporter to ancient Kyiv. You can also take a walk through the botanical garden and get acquainted with 4000+ species of various plants.

Motherland

Now everyone has the opportunity not only to walk around the territory of the Memorial Complex of the Museum of the Second World War, but also to climb to a unique platform that offers an incredible panorama of the left bank.

Motherland has 2 observation decks. One of them is located at an altitude of 36.6 meters and costs 100 hryvnias per person. It is worth noting that this is an observation deck at the foot. 

However, climbing the shield at a height of 91 meters costs 500 hryvnias per person. You need to physically buy a ticket and wait in a live queue to be lifted. You can admire Kyiv from a height from 10:00 to 18:00 from Monday to Friday and from 10:00 to 19:00 from Saturday to Sunday. The observation deck is open only in good weather and in two seasons: fall and spring.

Glass Bridge

The popular bridge over Volodymyrskyi Descent connects Khreshchatyi Park and Volodymyrska Hill. Its length is 216 meters. The structures for its construction were made at the famous Azovstal plant in Mariupol before the full-scale invasion began.

On this youngest Kyiv bridge, you will find equipped observation decks with glass inserts in the floor, which offer a breathtaking panorama of the Dnipro River and the Left Bank. It is one of the best places to meet the sunrise in the capital.

Unfortunately, on October 10, 2022, the bridge was damaged by a missile attack from the aggressor country, but was fully restored. Kyiv residents consider this glass bridge to be a symbol of the true indestructibility of Ukrainians. After all, the Kyiv bridge, unlike the Kerch bridge, has survived despite all the damage.

Alley of Artists

Alley of Artists is one of the top locations for admiring the panorama of the capital right in the city center. There are rumors that in good, clear weather you can even see the outlines of Chernihiv from this place. However, we guarantee that here you will be able to enjoy an incomparable view of the atmospheric historical Podil and the water surface of the Dnipro River, as well as take many wonderful photos.

Artists' Alley is called the "Montmartre of Kyiv". Since 1984, the celebration of Kyiv Day is not complete without a vernissage on Andriyivskyy Descent. Since then, this location has become a real creative center of the capital, where artists, poets and representatives of the creative intelligentsia constantly gather. 

There are places for selling paintings, and metal boxes stylized as benches are used to store goods. The renovated artists' alley was inaugurated on June 1, 2019.

Pedestrian bridge to Trukhaniv Island

The pedestrian bridge that connects the right and left banks of the city can rightfully be called a real architectural gem of the capital. It was built back in 1968, and since then the 429-meter-long bridge has become one of the most popular symbols of Kyiv.

The height of the pedestrian bridge is 26 meters, and it offers an incredible panorama of the Dnipro River, especially during sunsets. In 2015, the 7-meter-wide bridge was divided into a pedestrian and a bicycle part, and it became part of the capital's first bicycle route. It is a favorite place for walks and dates for Kyiv residents. In addition, it is also a place for jumping with a climbing harness, or rope jumping.

Landscape Alley

Landscape Alley is a surprisingly picturesque place in the capital. In 2009, sculptor Konstantin Skrytutsky built many bright and interesting sculptures here, the most popular of which are centipede cats, rabbit benches, and amazing images from famous children's fairy tales such as Alice in Wonderland and The Little Prince. The famous smile of the Kyiv Cheshire Cat can also be found here!
