The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has adopted a resolution on the need to pay funds to Ukrainian refugees for their return to their homeland after the war. This is stated in the relevant document.

According to the text of the resolution, PACE recommends taking concrete measures to prepare for the return of Ukrainian refugees to their homeland after peace.

The Assembly noted that the process of returning refugees to Ukraine cannot be carried out "immediately" and may require many years of preparation. Therefore, it is necessary to start it now.

"The return will certainly require financial assistance to facilitate resettlement, and resettlement and reintegration assistance will need to be addressed over a period of time," - the document says.

In addition, it is emphasized that Ukrainian refugees should be granted the legal right to reside in the country after a three-year stay.

Importantly, the PACE resolution called for long-term support not only for refugees, but also for IDPs within Ukraine.
