The new visa rules introduced in Japan for Ukrainians are intended to bring bilateral relations between the two countries to a new level. The changes were announced by the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of these steps for the further exchange of cultural ties and strengthening of commercial relations.
New visa rules to Japan for Ukrainians
On June 24, Japan eased visa requirements for Ukrainian citizens. It should be noted that the ministry has not yet specified the details, but in February 2024, the embassy already announced changes for short-term stays of Ukrainian citizens in Japan.
These changes will apply to the following categories of Ukrainians:
1. Employees of Ukrainian companies: Those who participate in cooperation projects between Japan and Ukraine will be able to obtain multiple-entry visas for short-term business stays. The requirement to have a history of travel to Japan will also be relaxed.
2. Relatives of evacuated Ukrainians: They will be eligible for multiple entry visas for short-term stays to visit relatives or friends.
3. Individuals with high incomes and their families: They will also be eligible for multiple-entry visas, which will be valid for 5 years with a permitted period of stay of up to 90 days for each visit.
Please note! The Embassy of Japan in Ukraine does not currently provide consular services in Kyiv.
