According to the Americans, World War III could begin in the next 5-10 years. The war will most likely be fought against the alliance of China and russia, and Ukraine will be one of the best allies of the United States in this war. These are the results of a survey conducted by the American organization YouGov.

When will World War III begin and which countries will it affect?

According to a survey published on the organization's official website, 22% of Americans are convinced that World War III will begin within the next 5 or 10 years, while another 39% of respondents believe it is somewhat likely. At the same time, 77% of the surveyed citizens are confident that the United States will be involved in a new world war, while only 6% are convinced that the country will stay away.

According to Americans, the United States will have to fight against russia (72%), China (69%), or Iran (67%). At the same time, some citizens are convinced that the country will have to confront an alliance of these states.

As for the U.S. allies, Americans consider the top five to be: Great Britain (67%), Ukraine and Israel (58% each), France (57%), and Germany (54%).

Who will win World War III according to the poll?

According to the survey, if the United States and its allies have to fight against russia, 53% of citizens are convinced of victory. In the case of a war against China, 48% of Americans believe in victory. If it is an alliance of states, 45% of the surveyed citizens believe in the victory of the West.

Will nuclear weapons be used in World War III?

According to US citizens, nuclear weapons will play a significant role in a global war. And 68% of respondents said that the probability of its use is extremely high. However, most Americans believe that if russia uses nuclear weapons against Ukraine, the United States should respond with non-nuclear means.

Thus, depending on where the russians might strike - a military facility or a civilian city - only 11% and 13% of Americans respectively believe that the United States should retaliate with a nuclear strike. Another 21% and 22% of respondents said that the United States should declare war on russia and destroy them with non-nuclear weapons, and 30% and 28% said that the United States should take non-military measures.
