Over the past three weeks, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has been actively using the electronic register Oberig to detect forged documents and expose attempts to illegally leave Ukraine. 

According to the official website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, since mid-February, border guards have stopped 230 attempts to illegally cross the border using forged documents, in particular, thanks to the Unified State Register of Persons Liable for Military Service, Conscripts and Reservists Oberig.

"The digitalization of work with the data of the TCR and SS is inevitable. "Oberih allows us to automate those processes that previously depended on the human factor," said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defense for Digitalization, Digital Transformation and Digital Development.

How are men liable for military service checked when leaving Ukraine?

It is noted that the Ministry of Defense, together with the State Border Guard Service, has already established an exchange between the State Border Guard Service database and the Unified State Register of Conscripts, Persons Liable for Military Service and Reservists, which allowed for the rapid detection of forged documents and prompt verification of information about persons liable for military service.

Previously, in order to confirm the validity of documents for traveling abroad, border guards had to clarify information and contact representatives of the TCR and SS directly. Now, the process is fully automated - the information can be checked online through the Oberig register in just a few clicks.

According to Andriy Demchenko, Assistant Head of the State Border Guard Service and spokesperson, border guards continue to counteract attempts to illegally cross the border both at the "green zone" and at checkpoints, and "therefore, the establishment of an effective information exchange between the Oberig register and the State Border Guard Service database allows inspectors to check such documents more efficiently and quickly."

Remember that to leave Ukraine in a car with Ukrainian registration, you must have a Green Card insurance policy. It is mandatory in 50 countries, including the EU. Without such insurance, the car will not be allowed to cross the border! In addition, the absence or delay of insurance is fraught not only with fines that are several dozen times the cost of the insurance policy for a year, but also with the seizure of the car and deportation from the country with a subsequent ban on entry.
