International delivery of driver's licenses is now available in Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Belgium and Switzerland. This was reported by the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Delivery of a driver's license abroad: the list of countries has been expanded

"We launched the international delivery of driver's licenses almost 4 months ago. As of today, more than 3500 citizens have already used the service. The largest number of orders is from Poland - about 70%," said Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.

According to him, due to the high demand, the list of countries where you can order the exchange of a driver's license is expanding. From now on, international delivery is available to 5 more European countries - Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Belgium and Switzerland.

Who can use international delivery of driver's license? 

The service can be used by drivers who want to exchange their license obtained for the first time for 2 years, have lost or damaged this document, or have changed their personal data.

How to order the delivery of a driver's license?

To order the option, you need to log in to the Driver's Area and log in. Then specify the reason for exchanging the driver's license, enter the delivery address, and pay for the service. 

After that, the application is automatically sent to the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and processed by the administrator.

Then, Infotech transfers the finished license to Ukrposhta, which sends it abroad to the specified address. International delivery usually takes about 15 days.

The cost of the service

The approximate cost of a driver's license consists of payment for the form and administrative service and amounts to 515 hryvnias. Logistics costs of the postal carrier abroad cost 960 UAH.

Important! You can also reissue a driver's license at the branches of the state enterprise "Document", but the cost of this service is significantly higher than ordering a document through the driver's electronic cabinet, and it also requires a larger package of documents, including a certificate of fitness to drive.

What else is required to drive a car with Ukrainian registration abroad?

First of all, when planning a trip or already being abroad in a car with Ukrainian registration, the driver must take care of obtaining a Green Card in advance - a car insurance policy that is mandatory in 50 countries, including the EU.

After all, if a driver does not have an insurance policy, or if it has expired for at least one day, he or she faces not only a serious fine, the amount of which is several times higher than the cost of an insurance policy issued for a year, but in some cases even the confiscation of the vehicle and deportation from the host country with a subsequent entry ban.
