Ukrainian airline SkyUp is introducing transcontinental routes from Europe. According to Avianews, the company has launched a charter program for tourists, cooperating with tour operators Join UP! Poland, Join UP! Moldova, and Join UP! Romania.

SkyUp launches transcontinental flights from Europe: details

Starting in mid-December, SkyUp plans to increase the frequency of flights on the Warsaw-Zanzibar route and launch a new Katowice-Zanzibar flight. The airline currently operates flights to Zanzibar from Bucharest, Chisinau, and Warsaw.

The flight program to Zanzibar will run until April 12, 2024. This route is operated by a medium-haul Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which, not having sufficient range for direct flights, makes an intermediate stopover for refueling at Hurghada Airport in Egypt.

The operator of all flights, except for the Chisinau-Zanzibar route, is the Maltese SkyUp MT unit, while the Ukrainian SkyUp operates the route.

Tickets for SkyUp flights from Europe to Zanzibar can only be purchased as part of a travel package, as the airline does not sell tickets separately without a travel service.

As you know, in October 2023, SkyUp received permission to operate flights to Canada, including a FAOC certificate, which allows it to provide ACMI services and operate charter flights from other countries to Canada.
