Starting November 15, Ukrzaliznytsia is expanding its pilot project for women's compartments in passenger trains. 

According to the company's press service on Telegram, this service will be available on four more trains:

• No. 17/18 Kharkiv - Uzhhorod

• No. 29/30 Kyiv - Uzhhorod

• No. 3/4 Zaporizhzhia - Uzhhorod

• No. 26/236 Odesa - Rakhiv.

It is noted that tickets for women's compartments will be available through the UZ mobile application from October 27. The sale will be open for 20 days. 

Please note! Only women and children under 5 years old are allowed to board these compartments.

In addition, UZ emphasizes that the fare in women's compartments will not differ from the standard fare for a compartment of a similar class in the same train.

"Our pilot project with women's compartments has demonstrated that this service is needed and relevant now. On average, such compartments are filled by 93%. In 4 months, we have already sold 25 thousand tickets. Therefore, as promised, we are increasing the number of trains where this service will be available," emphasized Yevhen Liashchenko, Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia.

Ensuring safety on UZ trains: details

As you know, in June 2023, Ukrzaliznytsia introduced a pilot project to sell tickets for women's compartments for four long-distance flights: 

• No. 81 Kyiv - Uzhhorod; 

• No. 41 Dnipro - Truskavets; 

• No. 75 Kyiv - Kryvyi Rih; 

• No. 15 Kharkiv - Yasinia. 

These routes were among the leaders in terms of the number of complaints from passengers.

Later, in September, Ukrzaliznytsia introduced the position of railway marshals at stations and on trains, who, unlike security guards, work confidentially. Railway marshals are employees of a special departmental unit, and their main task is to ensure the safety of passenger transportation.
