Changi International Airport in Singapore plans to introduce a system of flights without the need to check passports in 2024. This is reported by CNN. 

It is noted that if the corresponding system works, Singapore will become the first country in the world to adopt such an innovative approach.

How will flights be carried out without passport checks? 

The essence of the innovation is that instead of traditional passports, passengers will be identified using their biometric data. This technology is already used at airports on automated immigration control lanes for face recognition.

These changes will simplify the passenger service procedure, as passengers will no longer be required to present their travel documents at different stages of their journey. 

Biometric data will be used to create a "single authentication token" that passengers can use at various automated service points, from baggage claim to immigration control and boarding. As a result, travelers will not need to carry boarding passes and passports.

It is important to note that, despite the new control rules, passports will still be required in countries where biometrics are not valid.

The airport management hopes that the upcoming implementation of the biometric system will help make passenger service more convenient and restore passenger traffic and air traffic to pre-pandemic levels.
