The traditional celebration of the National Flag Day and Independence Day of Ukraine did not take place this year, for obvious reasons. However, the GUR, the Navy and the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a number of legendary special operations these days that will go down in history and will inevitably affect the course of the war in the near future. It should be noted that the events of the last few days are very symbolic, especially given russia's unhealthy attachment to certain dates. Therefore, these days will definitely be remembered in russia, because in a sense they have become fatal for russian defense and have raised a new wave of hysteria among russians.

GUR landed in Crimea and raised the Ukrainian flag: what is known?

On August 24, at about 5 a.m., during a special operation, a sabotage group of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine landed on the coast of Crimea. The special operation was carried out near the settlements of Olenivka and Mayak on Cape Tarkhankut.

According to the representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Andriy Yusov, the operation was conducted in cooperation with the Ukrainian Navy, the objectives were achieved and there were no casualties among the personnel. In addition, it is known that Ukrainian soldiers eliminated about 30 occupants and destroyed equipment and other means. Currently, the GUR does not disclose all the details of the special operation and made it clear that it was one of "a number of planned activities."

According to Krym.Realii, near the landing site of the sabotage group there is a base of the 3rd Radio Regiment and a radar node where the Nebo-M radar complex and Kasta-2E2 radar station are deployed.

These systems are designed to locate air targets and can be used to detect Ukrainian aircraft, drones, and missiles moving from the Black Sea.

It should be noted that the day before, the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, said that Ukraine has the ability to destroy targets anywhere in Crimea. At the same time, Yusov said that now Crimea is "not just within the range of destruction means, but also within the range of operations by the personnel of the security and defense forces of Ukraine."

Also, the GUR insists that the special forces not only accomplished their goals, but also raised the Ukrainian flag on one of the buildings. We believe that the blue-and-yellow flag will soon fly in every locality temporarily occupied by the russian army! 

Destruction of the latest S-400 on Cape Tarkhankut

On August 23, it became known that Ukraine had destroyed the russian S-400 system, a long- and medium-range air defense missile system. According to the GUR, the launcher itself, the missiles installed on it, and the personnel were destroyed. The moment of the hit was captured on video by a Ukrainian drone that was conducting additional reconnaissance and fire adjustment.

The Intelligence Directorate emphasizes that the destruction of this system will have an impact not only on the occupiers' air defense system, but also on the further development of events in Crimea. 

"Given the limited number of such systems in the enemy's arsenal, this is a painful blow to the occupiers' air defense system, which will have a serious impact on further events in the occupied Crimea," the GUR said in a statement.

In addition, this event is called a triumph for Ukraine and Ukrainians, which brings the liberation of the Ukrainian peninsula closer.

"Let them suffer, break their heads. It was an explosion that eliminated the "calling card" of russian air defense systems. And what they wanted to sell abroad for a high price... I think now there will be much less people willing to buy such not very effective things, which, however, burn well," comments Andriy Yusov.

Surrender of a russian Mi-8 helicopter: a special operation of the GUR

On August 23, it became known that a russian Mi-8 helicopter with the entire crew landed on the territory of Ukraine and surrendered. The GUR confirmed the information, but noted that work is currently underway, including with the helicopter pilot, and therefore the details of the special operation will be made public later.

Ukrayinska Pravda, citing its own high-ranking intelligence sources, reported that the GUR special operation had been in the works for more than six months. 

"Ukrainian intelligence lured the pilot of the Mi-8 AMTSh to Ukraine. The plane was flying between two air bases and transporting parts for Su-27 and Su-30 SM fighters. Together with the pilot, there were two crew members on board who did not know where the helicopter was actually flying," the newspaper writes.

As a result of the special operation, two crew members were killed, and the pilot and his family, who had been taken out of russia in advance, are already in Ukraine.

At the same time, in an interview with Radio Svoboda, the head of the GUR, Kirill Budanov, said that they managed to "find the right approach to the man, create conditions to take the whole family out unnoticed so that he could overtake the ship with the crew, who did not know what was happening."

According to Budanov, the special operation is the first successful operation of its kind in the history of Ukraine. In addition, the conscious surrender was called a real sensation that demoralizes putin's military aviation elite.

Prigozhin's staged death in a plane crash or putin's revenge

Although the Ukrainian side was not involved in the plane crash with Prigozhin's business jet, this event will inevitably affect the course of the war in Ukraine, as the russian Freedom Legion has already "invited" the Wagnerites, who were left without their leader in Belarus, to join the second "march of justice" and eventually reach moscow.

In addition, whether Prigozhin's death was just another "performance" or putin really took revenge on his traitor, the plane crash will have an impact on russia's elites, military leaders, and the general population. After all, despite his rather controversial reputation, Prigozhin was considered almost a national hero in russia. And his forced removal cannot be forgotten without a trace. 

However, some Western figures and experts suggest that the mercenary leader staged his own death in order to avoid real reprisals from the russian dictator, who has always eliminated those who went against the system.

However, regardless of the reasons, the death of Prigozhin, who led dozens of bloody operations on the territory of Ukraine, is good news for Ukrainians and the Armed Forces. The only thing that made Ukrainian soldiers upset was that they did not eliminate Prigozhin, because it would have been a truly symbolic event.

Ukrainians will remember the 32nd anniversary of Ukraine's independence for the rest of their lives, and the events of these days will go down in the history of the russian-Ukrainian war.
