Usually, on Ryanair flights, passengers' luggage is checked very thoroughly, and the airport staff meticulously measures each suitcase. This is due to the fact that the basic Ryanair fare allows the transportation of a suitcase measuring 40 cm x 25 cm x 20 cm and when choosing the "small bag only" option, passengers are warned:

"If you take a second bag or if your bag is too large to fit under the seat, you will be charged a fee of up to €69.99 or the local currency equivalent at the boarding gate."

But the trick is that paying for extra baggage when you buy a ticket is much cheaper than at the airport. For example, for a suitcase up to 10 kg when booking a ticket, a passenger will have to pay from 12 to 35.99 euros, while at the airport there is no variation, and to board, you will have to pay the full amount of 35.99 euros.

In other words, if a passenger realizes that he or she is unlikely to be able to pack his or her belongings in hand luggage only, he or she should pay an additional fee at the stage of issuing the ticket. After all, the later the fee is paid, the more expensive it will be.

Change of name on Ryanair tickets

The option to change the name on Ryanair tickets is often more expensive than buying a new ticket. For example, for passengers who decide to change their name on the ticket online, the service will cost approximately 135 euros, but if the passenger decides to contact an agent to make changes, the cost of the service will increase to almost 190 euros.

Changing other data will cost from 50 euros (online) to 70 euros (through an agent or at the airport).

So before you try to change the data, check the cost of a new flight ticket, most likely, you will be able to save money by purchasing a new ticket.

Print your boarding pass for Ryanair flights

If you haven't checked in online two hours before your scheduled departure, be prepared to pay a fee of almost 65 euros to print your boarding pass at the airport. To avoid overpaying, passengers should check in online and bring a downloaded or pre-printed version of their boarding pass with them.

Please note that if a passenger loses their boarding pass at the airport, they will have to pay a reissue fee of 23 euros.

Transportation of bulky items with Ryanair

Paying for the transportation of bulky items, such as musical instruments or sports equipment, on the same principle as with additional baggage, at the stage of booking a ticket will cost much less than at the airport.
