Unfortunately, as a result of russian aggression, many animals were injured and killed, as small furry animals are unable to escape the terrible consequences of war on their own. However, thanks to the courageous and dedicated work of caring organizations, a large number of tails were rescued and evacuated to safer regions of Ukraine. So where are they now and how can we help them?
Animals saved thanks to your support
In June, the Visit Ukraine team announced a collection to support animals affected by the hostilities and the explosion at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. Thanks to the help of those who cared, we managed to raise 130,000 thousand hryvnias.
The funds were transferred to two shelters: Cats on Mars and Dvor_nyashkam_dom, which are personally involved in the rescue and evacuation of the affected furry animals and provide them with temporary homes, food and medical care.
We have a chance to make this world a better place and give a loving family to every little tail affected by the war.
Visit Ukraine together with the Dvor_nyashkam_dom shelter invites you to join the charity initiative and help find a loving family and home for each animal. Our little friends need care, attention, and care, and unfortunately, it is simply impossible to meet these needs in full at the shelter. Despite the fact that all the tails are safe and comfortable, receive the necessary treatment and care, each of them lacks the most important thing - a loving family.

Today, the Dvor_nyashkam_dom shelter is home to 130 dogs, 26 puppies and 150 cats. These little furry animals came to the shelter from different conditions and in different states, but they are all ready to find a new home.
Each of us can join this initiative and take a faithful friend into loving hands. Let us introduce you to some of them
In order to give a home to a little tail, you need to go to the shelter's Instagram page and write to them in Direct. The algorithm of actions is very simple:
1. Describe what kind of animal you want to take (cat/dog, age, size, character, etc.). Please note! If you already have a furry friend at home, be sure to indicate this in your message.
2. In response, you will be sent photos and videos of the shelter's pets that match your description. Together with the "Mongrels Home" team, you will be able to choose a furry animal that will become your loyal friend and part of your family.
The shelter has already found homes for several dozen animals and has successful cases of transferring pets abroad. So, if you are outside of Ukraine but want to give love and care to a little tail, contact the shelter and they will help you with the paperwork and transportation of a new family member.
How else can we help rescued animals?
If you are unable to take a furry friend into your family, you can help the shelter with dog walking. After all, the Dvor_nyashkam_dom team has only 4 employees who walk animals twice a day. It should be reminded that at the moment 130 dogs live in the shelter.
Therefore, everyone who cares can make a very significant contribution to helping the animals, and at the same time, have a good time outdoors in the company of a cute and furry friend.
For more information on how to help with dog walking, please visit the shelter's Instagram page or write to them in Direct.
Please join in to help the little tails, our concern can change this world for the better! After all, after the horror that the animals had to go through, they really need care, attention, and most importantly, a loving family. Let's give love to those who need it the most!
We remind you that Visit Ukraine is actively involved in charitable activities and supports not only animals, but also courageous soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, our rescuers and employees of the State Emergency Service, and children.
