The State Border Guard Service has warned Ukrainians of an increase in activity on the Ukrainian-Polish border. It is noted that 75,000 people crossed the border with Poland on 2 July. Read more about the situation at the border and recommendations for crossing the border in the article below. 

Ukrainian-Polish border: current information 

In June, a total of 719,000 people entered Poland from Ukraine. Currently, there is a significant increase in the flow of passengers wishing to leave Ukraine via the Polish border. Representatives of the State Border Guard Service attribute this to the summer holiday season.  

Due to the excessive workload of checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish border, Ukrainians are advised to monitor the latest information on queues and, if possible, choose the most free checkpoints to cross.

"Due to the increase in the flow of people leaving the country, we recommend that Ukrainians travelling through Poland in transit choose other checkpoints, for example, in Zakarpattia and Chernivtsi regions", commented representatives of the State Border Guard Service. 

Congestion at border crossing points: details 

As of 3 July, the situation at the checkpoints is as follows: 

● "Krakivets - 100 cars, 0 buses. Pedestrians are not allowed to cross;

● "Uhryniv - 30 cars, 1 bus, 0 pedestrians. Pedestrians are allowed only to exit for evacuation purposes;

● "Hrushev" - 30 cars, 2 buses, 0 pedestrians. Pedestrians are allowed only to exit for evacuation purposes;

● "Rava-Ruska - 20 cars, 2 buses, 0 pedestrians. Pedestrians are allowed to pass only to the exit for evacuation purposes;

● "Nyzhankovychi - 12 trucks. Only trucks with a permissible maximum weight of more than 7.5 tonnes, without cargo, are allowed to pass at this point;

● "Shehyni - 0 cars, 0 buses, 100 pedestrians. Pedestrians are allowed in both directions;

● "Smilnytsia" - 0 cars, 0 buses, 0 pedestrians. Pedestrians are allowed to pass only to the exit for evacuation purposes.
